A NEW deputy coroner who will investigate sudden and unexplained deaths in Waltham Forest has been sworn in.
Dr Shirely Radcliffe was officially appointed to the post during a ceremony at Walthamstow Coroner's Court, carried out by the borough's mayor Cllr Richard Sweden.
It comes following the retirement of Dr Radcliffe's predecessor Rev Dr William Dolman.
The court investigates dozens of deaths across north east London, including Redbridge and Waltham Forest, every year.
Two new assistant deputy coroners, Nadia Persaud and Jacqueline Devonish, were also sworn in during the ceremony.
It is the latest in a series of changes to the court's senior management, which includes the appointment of head coroner Chinyere Inyama last year.
