TWO men robbed a pawn shop in the middle of the day and beat up its owner.
It happened at Capital Gold Pawnbrokers in Walthamstow High Street at around 1.30pm on Friday (November 23).
The 59-year-old victim was reportedly held in a back room for around 20 minutes and assaulted during the ordeal.
He is currently in a serious condition in hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police are refusing to confirm what was stolen but rumours in Walthamstow Market suggest that a large quantity of gold worth thousands of pounds was taken.
A Met spokesman said: "The Flying Squad based at Barking are investigating.
"They ask anyone with information to contact them on 0208 345 4226 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
"There have been no arrests and inquiries continue."
