ANYONE who fancies giving choir singing a try is invited to audition at a Woodford Green church.

Raymond Chandler, Master of the Music at St Barnabas church in Snakes Lane East, is looking for new singers and says people of all abilities are welcome.

Mr Chandler added: “We can offer people a good grounding and a unique opportunity to experience a full cathedral repertoire of music from mediaeval times to the present day.

“We are a friendly and relaxed group and I think people will enjoy themselves if they come along.

“I believe there are strong medical benefits to singing - it opens the lungs - and it’s a lot of fun.”
 

The choir sings a full choral mass and Evensong every Sunday. Choir practice is held on Fridays between 8pm-9.30pm.
