TEXTILES students have picked up inspiration from one of the best in the fashion business.
Pupils of West Hatch High School in Chigwell paid a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum for a workshop led by designer Juliana Sissons.
The GCSE and A-Level students were shown around the museum, before working in groups to transform paper into outfits of their own design.
Naz Hussain, the school’s head of textiles, said: "The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the session as it gave them the confidence to model ideas in a variety of ways before working with fabric.
"Pupils assessed the final outfits with the expertise of Julia, who said the pupils created the best outfits from any school that took part in the workshop.
"This workshop has given pupils ideas for their own costume project coming up in textiles GCSE."
