The Birkbeck Tavern, the popular music venue in Leytonstone, has been saved from closure after a new pub firm stepped in and bought it this month.
So why not get down and celebrate by watching King Salami and The Cumberland Three play there on Saturday (December 1).
They are described as an “R&B punk sensation” and sound like a lot of fun.
Support is from country act Rattleshack. The music begins at 8.30pm and it's free, although donations welcome.
Blues harp player Little George Sueref performs at the pub, in Langthorne Road, on Sunday (December 2) from 6pm.
The Old Hall Tavern in Hall Lane, Chingford, hosts an Open Mic night on Thursday (November 29).
It's free entry and is from 8.30pm.
PA and amps provided, although performers can perform unplugged if they want. All levels of skill and types of performance – including things like poetry – are welcome.
Folk duo The Raven headline Redbridge Green Fair's acoustic night in Ilford on Friday (November 30).
Support comes from singer-songwriter Nick Peckett, who plays original songs with jazz and blues influences.
The show is at the RAFA Club in Cranbrook Road and starts at 7.30pm.
Entry is £4, or £2 for under 18s.
Indie folk 'hero' Darren Hayman plays Ye Olde Rose and Crown in Walthamstow on Friday night (November 30).
Supportcomes from local poets and musicians including funny man Rob Auton, harpist Anna Skodo, Abena the Actress and Mo Gallaccio.
The gig, at the pub in Hoe Street, starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7 and it's organised by the Forest Poets group.
On Wednesday (December 5) the same venue has an Open Mic night hosted by Graham Larkbey. It gets going from around 8.30pm.
Roger Beauholais on the vibes and some of his friends play the East Side Jazz Club in Leytonstone on Tuesday (December 4).
It's at the Lord Rookwood in Cann Hall Road from 8.30pm.
Admission is £5.
Harmony folk singers Lynne Heraud and Pat Turner headline Loughton Folk Club on Thursday (November 29).
Support comes from energetic folk duo Playing Rapunzel.
Entrance is £5 and it's at the Loughton Club in Station Road from 8pm.
