SCHOOL pupils have won £1,000 for being the best dressed choir in a competition.
Youngsters scooped the prize for Willowbrook Primary, in Church Road, Leyton, from the Westfield megamall in Stratford, which has been holding a festive contest among schools in east London.
The 15 children, from years four to six, impressed the judges with their home-made Christmas tree costumes.
Music teacher Maudette Uzoh said: "It's wonderful news for the school - we put the choir together in about three weeks, so to win something already is great.
"The children were so delighted when they won, some of them were crying with joy and others were cheering and jumping up and down. It's made them very happy."
