1st Wanstead Guides recently hosted an exciting circus night, which involved different circus-based activities and finished on a high note a Circus act by the different patrols (groups).
The girls started with a challenging quiz on general knowledge about circuses and learnt interest facts such as the first human cannonball was mademoiselle Zazelle. This was not an ordinary quiz, the answers for each question were hidden around the room and each group had to find answers and match them to the corresponding questions. The winners overall were the dolphin patrol who won with 18/20.
Following this the girls were given different coloured balloons and they were asked to make different animals, some were very inventive making poodle dogs and swans. They had obviously had some practice!
The last event of the night was the circus acts performed by different groups and they displayed an array of talent ranging from funny jokers and acts forming a pyramid. The girls had been practicing how to juggle beanbags for several weeks and the hard work had definitely paid off. They were all in eye-catching and vibrant clothes and the music just added to the energetic atmosphere.
The girl guides meet every Wednesday and they do a range of exciting things every week, they went to Chessington and they are also planning a trip to Winter Wonderland. Next week they are planning to host film night, with popcorn and some cheeky chocolate!
