On Tuesday a fire broke out in Leytonstone at around 8:45 at night. The fire broke out on Ramsay Road in a set of portable toilets for builders. Recent construction on work on Ramsay Road meant that a portable toilet was needed for the builders.

One of the residents in the street only found out about the fire when she heard the sirens of the fire brigade. “I was revising for my mock exam tomorrow and then all of a sudden I heard a loud siren. At first I thought it was from the other road but then when I went outside I realized it was from my road” Seeing the flames rise up into the dark sky made the student feel “shocked and I was extremely worried because my mum just left the house just a few minutes before”

As the fire brigade got on the case; they advised the residents of the street to get back to their homes due to the risk of explosions. If it wasn’t for the fire brigade perhaps the fire could have caused real damage by spreading onto nearby houses. Once the fire was drowned out by the masses of water, they local authority started the process of clearing up the debris from the fire.

Although it is suspected that someone from the community set off this fire, no conclusive evidence has been found to identify who did this…
