STUDENTS' GSCE English exam results at a Snaresbrook school have risen after they were re-marked following controversy in the summer with the results.
Exam board AQA re-marked the papers for free after teachers at Forest School, in College Place, declared the exams had been unfairly marked, with students achieving lower grades than expected.
The new results show a rise in the number of students achieving top grades.
The number of students who achieved an A* in English Literature rose from 27 in August to 33 and the number of students who achieved an A rose from 55 to 57.
While the number of students who achieved an A grage in English Language rose from 32 to 41.
Jonathan Mitchell, Director of Teaching and Learning said: "We are satisfied with the outcome and are happy that we acted early and took such robust action. Our pupils have worked so hard, and this is reflected in the fact that the most common GCSE grade across the board is the A* grade."
