PRIMARY and secondary schools are closed as ice and snow cause travel problems across the district.

St Andrew's Primary School in North Weald has been unable to open as staff and teachers have not been able to travel in.

The Reception Class nativity play, due to take place today, has been rescheduled to Thursday December 13.

St John's C of E Secondary School in Epping has also closed after school buses were cancelled due to road conditions.

Pupils who arrive at school will be sent home if a parent or carer is able to look after them. Those who are unable to return home will be supervised during normal school hours.

Epping Upland C of E Primary School in Epping Green is also closed.

In Waltham Abbey, Leverton Junior School, Upshire Primary Foundation School and Hillhouse Church of England Primary School in Waltham Abbey are closed for the day, while King Harold Academy will not be opening until 11.20am.

Chipping Ongar Primary School, Dr Walker's Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School in Fyfield and Stapleford Abbotts Primary School are also closed.
