A TOWN council is to spend up to £12,500 refurbishing a community hall that has been plagued by vandals.
Epping councillors have agreed a programme to replace the flooring at the Jack Silley Pavilion in Stonards Hill recreation ground.
General repairs will also be carried out and the building - which is hired out for children’s parties and other functions - will also be repainted.
The work will be paid for from the council’s capital expenditure fund.
The site has suffered a string of attacks by vandals in recent years, with youths setting fire to a nearby children’s play area and smashing the pavilion's tiles, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage from water leaks and damp.
