A WOMAN who has turned her front garden into a winter wonderland hopes people can help her raise hundreds of pounds for charity before Christmas.
Eunice Hunt, 54, of Cochrane Court, Leyton, has proven a hit with children since she and her family decorated their garden with festive lights, a nativity scene, and even Father Christmases climbing a ladder and taking a break from work by playing on a see-saw.
And the caretaker at Riverley Primary School in Park Road, Leyton, hopes they can raise up to £400 for Macmillan Cancer Support from people who come to look at the magical scene.
She said: “All the children love it, I think it helps create the Christmas spirit here. The teachers from school tell me I put Blackpool out of business at this time of year.
“I want to help Macmillan because they helped my husband’s first wife and my mother-in-law is just getting over breast cancer. Without them she wouldn’t have pulled through.”
People can donate money at Mrs Hunt’s house.
