GREEN-FINGERED children have dug deep to help sow the seeds of change in their school grounds.
Pupils of St John Fisher Catholic Primary School in Burney Drive, Debden, have helped plant nearly 100 native and ornamental trees and shrubs in its grounds over the past two days.
The plantings are part of a plan to develop the school grounds in a bid to boost outdoor teaching and learning and encourage wildlife to the site.
Trees have been specially chosen for their spring blossom, autumn fruit, bark colour and scientific value – and range from crab apple and goat willow to west Himalayan birch and mountain ash.
