NEW sexual health clinics have now opened in Waltham Forest, to allow more people access to check-ups and safe sex advice.
Comely Bank Clinic in Ravenswood Road, Walthamstow, and Silverthorn Medical Centre in Friars Close, Chingford, both now offer family planning and sexual health services, in addition to the established one at the Oliver Road polyclinic in Leyton.
Nesta Williams, Sexual and Reproductive Health Service Manager for North East London NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Local residents now have much better access to family planning and sexual health clinics. We have clinics that run in the evening and at the weekends, some of which are walk-in, so no appointment is needed.
“You can see us if you’re worried about any symptoms you’ve got, or if you need advice or just a sexual health check up.
“We hope that by having these new clinics in Waltham Forest we will encourage more people to take care of their sexual health.”
Walk-in services include contraceptive clinics, emergency contraception, Chlamydia screenings and on the spot pregnancy testing.
Cervical smear tests are available on appointment, as is sexual health screening and treatment when there are no symptoms.
