A GANG of gunrunners who were caught selling a firearm and ammunition in a Chingford car park have been jailed for 37 years.

Bradley Buchanan, 25 of Flexmere Road, Tottenham, Khavi Chadee, 26, of Grasmere Road, Tottenham and Dyrell Nestor, 24 of Liverpool Road, Islington were arrested in August 2011 at the car park where they had arranged to sell the weaponry for £7,000.

Two other members of the gang, David Komolafe 39 of Factory Lane, Tottenham and Adewole Adetunji, 44 of Bradmore Court, Enfield, were subsequently identified and arrested.

During the operation, officers recovered four firearms, including a Mac 10 machine gun.

At a hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court on December 7, Chadee and Buchanan pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply a prohibited weapon and were sentenced to six years each.

Nestor and Komolafe were found guilty of the same offence and sentenced to eight years.

Adetunji was sentenced to nine years after being found guilty of conspiracy to supply prohibited weapons, possession with intent to supply drugs and additional passport offences.

Detective Inspector Rob Murray, from the Met's Central Task Force, who led the operation, said: "There is no doubt these were dangerous individuals who had every intention of selling the firearms on to other criminals to commit serious offences, and I'm pleased they are now behind bars.

“The Met Police Central Task Force is committed to targeting criminal networks and ensuring weapons such as these are taken off our streets.

“The sentencing today sends out a clear message to those involved in such crimes that we will do everything we can to pursue them and bring them to justice."
