WEST Ham United’s biggest stars took time out from training to spread some festive cheer among young patients at Whipps Cross Hospital.
Hammers favourites including Kevin Nolan, Andy Carroll, Jussi Jaaskelainen, and Matt Jarvis delighted youngsters on the special trip to the hospital where they delivered presents to Acorn ward on December 4.
Club skipper, Nolan, said: “We are all only too pleased to put some smiles on the faces of those having to spend time in hospital over Christmas.
“I am a dad myself so I can understand what the mums and dads are going through when they are by their child’s bedside.”
Nolan handed over a donation on behalf of all the players to Matron, Eileen Elms to be spent on new ward equipment.
She said: “It was great that West Ham players were able to visit the children and bring them all goodie bags.
“They spent lots of time signing autographs, taking photos and talking to families which was greatly appreciated and helped to brighten their day.”
