A STANDING ovation greeted the end of a school’s spectacular production of Guys and Dolls.
Parents, teachers and fellow pupils were wowed by the musical which students at Wanstead High School in Redbridge Lane West performed last week.
The young cast have been rehearsing four nights a week since September for the production which played to packed houses in the school’s theatre over four nights.
And while the performers on stage dazzled, the show also featured a slick performance from the school’s orchestra.
Anna Efthymiou, Head of Learning Support at Wanstead High, said: “I take my hat off to everyone for getting it all together and producing such a wonderful performance.
“I was overwhelmed to see some of our students with speech and language difficulties being able to overcome these and achieve a sense of belonging in this wonderful cast.
“They were all buzzing afterwards and it did their self-esteem the world of good.”
