BLACK Lion Project and The Basics play Winters Bar in Chingford Mount this Friday (December 14).
Entry is £5 and there will also be some special guests.
Doors open around 8pm.
Alternatively, Bo Diddley-inspired act Lord Rochester performs at the Birkbeck Tavern in Leytonstone on Friday (March 14).
Support comes from bluesy jazz and country group Luxury Condo.
It's free, although donations welcome, and expect the music to start from around 8.30pm.
Harry Oakwood plays the same venue, in Langthorne Road, on Sunday evening (December 16).
It's also free and gets going around 6pm.
In Essex, warming acoustic trio Where's Spot? play Loughton Folk Club on Thursday (December 13).
Admission is £5 and it begins at 8pm.
It's at the Loughton Club building in Station Road.
Walthamstow Folk Club is holding its annual Christmas party on Sunday (December 16).
It's at Ye Olde Rose and Crown in Hoe Street from 7.30pm. Tickets are £7 or £5 for concessions.
East London group The Tobacco Dock Blues Band headline the Square in Harlow this Friday (December 14).
It costs £10 or £7 for members. Doors at 8pm and over 16s only.
The Hornbeam Cafe in Hoe Street, Walthamstow, has an Open Mic night on Friday (December 14).
It's from 7.30pm until midnight.
