A SPECTACULAR display of dance, drama and music at a Woodford Green school raised thousands of pounds for charity.
More than 130 pupils from Bancroft’s School in High Road took part in the school’s eleventh annual Taal (meaning Rhythm of Life).
The show is organised by the school’s Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Muslim Society and features a fusion of traditional music and dance.
As well as performing, pupils were also given responsibility for finding sponsorship to raise money for Cancer Research UK, The Serendip Children’s Home in Sri Lanka and Sightsavers International.
And, while the total amount raised is still to be calculated, the school estimates the show raised more than £5000.
