The mother of a murder victim who was stabbed in the heart on a Leyton housing estate has made an emotional plea for help finding her son’s killers.
Jean Alleyne’s son, Marvin Hogan, was approached by a group of men while sitting in his white Vauxhall Astra in Windsor Road, Leyton on June 4 last year – the Diamond Jubilee bank holiday Monday.
An argument started which moved on to nearby Thornhill Gardens where Mr Hogan was stabbed as he tried to retrieve his car keys from the men.
The gang fled, leaving 28-year-old Mr Hogan bleeding on the pavement. He died in the Royal London Hospital the following morning.
Mrs Alleyne said: "I would like to appeal to anyone that knows anything about my son's death to come forward, you do not have to leave your name this can be done anonymously.
“I feel that these were local boys who committed this murder and took my son away at a very young age from the people that loved him.
“I also appeal to family members, aunts, uncles and friends to do the right thing in helping to bring this person to justice that took my son from me and his family so cruelly that bank holiday Monday while I was at work.
“This person is still out there walking around free probably not far from where my son was murdered I want him caught so I can have my peace.
“I will not rest until my son's killer has been found."
Police are still looking for a passerby who stopped to help Mr Hogan, propping his head up on a rucksack before paramedics arrived.
The first suspect is described as a black man, in his early twenties, about 5ft 9ins or 5ft 10ins.
He wore a red baseball cap with a logo on the front and a black body-warmer with a six-inch red band to the front.
The second suspect was black, in his early twenties, about 5ft 9ins with an oval chubby face and hair in cane rows. He wore a quilted Barbour-style jacket with silver on it
The third suspect was black, in his early twenties and wore dark clothing.
One of the men also wore a scarf and had a bag across his shoulder.
A key ring with Mr Hogan’s car key on it was taken during the attack and has never been found.
Four arrests were made in connection with the murder between June 5 and June 10 last year, but all the men were subsequently released without charge.
Three men aged between 19 and 22 were arrested in connection with the investigation between June and August and bailed until later this month.
