A huge inflatable replica of a bowel is to appear at half time in a football match this weekend.
Fans in Leyton Orient’s Brisbane Road Stadium can see the inflatable bowel, showing the various stages of bowel cancer, by The Score Centre in Oliver Road during half time in the Os’ match against Bournemouth on Saturday to launch an awareness campaign.
The estimated 4,500 fans will be asked ‘Do you have the balls to look after your bum?’ as part of the NHS Be Clear On Cancer campaign, which will launch 32 balloons into the air as well to represent the average number of deaths per year from bowel cancer in the borough.
In addition there will be a one-to-one clinic after the match between 5pm and 6pm where fans can talk privately with specialist advisors about any concerns they may have.
