A NEWLY-renovated Lou-ghton gymnastics class is offering free sessions to give children the chance to try out its new facilities.

Loughton Gymnastics Club, which meets at Loughton Sports Club, Rectory Lane, has been kitted out with new equipment and staff since owner and head coach Jayne Shatford took over in September.

Mrs Shatford said: "We've bought quite a lot of new equipment, and new coaches have come with a lot of experience. We've got a new set of asymmetric bars and gym mats, and a new air track - it's like a bouncy castle.

It blows up and the children do tumbling on it. Our main aim is to provide an environment where children can perform to the best of their ability."

Membership has been rising steadily since September and now more than 90 children attend the one-hour sessions.

The club, which is British Gymnastics Association affiliated, is offering a free class for new pupils between 11.30am and 12.30pm, 12.45pm to 1.45pm and 2pm to 3pm on Saturday, November 25.

Mrs Shatford, who had lessons at the club when she was younger, said: "We just want to let people know we're here and we're improved, and to encourage everyone to come and give it a go."

Anyone interested in taking up one of the free sessions can ring Mrs Shatford on 07886 959808.
