YESTERDAY, Woodford County High School hosted a Non-Uniform Day in order to help raise money for the Haven House Children's Hospice, who only so happen to be located down the road from the girls.
The charity had constructed a plan to extend their White House Building having received a substantial sum of money from the Department of Health, yet; needing to secure an additional £235,000 in funding to confirm the cost of the extension.
The girls were encouraged to participate by coming into school dressed as their favourite superheros, and surely enough, an array of colour and masks were seen inside Woodford County on Friday! A simple donation of £1 was asked from the girls participating, not to mention, the staff were involved too!
The donations went towards a great cause, helping provide Haven House with the funding needed to ensure extra support for all the children and families in need of their help.
More schools around the borough should be encouraged to participate in such activities, where not only the students and staff have fun, but you can help others who would greatly appreciate the effort too!
