A bus is being brought back to the district for a trip down memory lane.
This weekend, to celebrate ‘Catch the Bus Week’ Epping Ongar Railway has arranged for an original vintage bus, which escaped the breakers yard, to return to the area which it served from 1930.
The trip should bring back memories for some residents who would have taken that exact bus when it was used on the 339 route between Epping Underground Station and North Weald and Ongar, in the1970’s.
A fleet of vintage busses is run by EOR, which is the only organisation in the country offering the opportunity to step on-board a vintage bus running on one of its original routes.
The bus will pick up passengers on Saturday and Sunday on the 339 route, and managers hope that familiar faces will return, to remind themselves of journeys which they once made aboard the bus.
Restored busses travel between Epping Underground Station and Ongar and North Weald every weekend.
