Thousands of people gathered together to celebrate at a May Fayre, this weekend, which included a tug of war, a BBQ, a dog show and traditional stalls.
The annual Swaines Green event, in Epping, which had to be cancelled last year, was packed with families who turned out to enjoy the entertainment.
For the first time there were ukulele performers and people were picked from the crowd to perform in the Maypole dancing.
Chairwoman of the Swaines Green Conservation Group, Audrey Wheeler, said that it was a relief to see the sunshine. She said: “It was excellent we had about 1500- 2000 people come down. “The dog show was great, it is always a popular one. “This year the weather was beautiful, we were really lucky, we had to cancel last year. “Everyone was really enjoying themselves and the stall holders were all happy. “It really went off with a bang, this year.” The May Fayre at Swaines Green has been running for the last ten years.
