The managers of a sheltered housing complex that was hit by a car on Saturday say the building is safe.
Peverel Retirement, which runs Pegasus Court in Victoria Road, Buckhurst Hill, said the woman whose car crashed into the building at about 9.40am was not a resident or relative.
A spokeswoman for the company said: “We were made aware immediately and our area manager and regional manager made sure contractors were on the site to ensure everything was safe.
“The lady in the car was taken to hospital, but we don’t know anything further.
“She doesn’t live there and was no relation to any residents.
“Staff are in Monday to Friday, so we went to the scene afterwards.”
An ambulance service spokesman said: “Two patients, both with minor injuries, were taken to Whipps Cross hospital in Leytonstone.”
Firefighters, a structural engineer and the Highways Agency were also called to the scene, originally reported by emergency services as being in Queens Road.
