A popular weekly music night showcasing live acts from around the world is to be revived after it shut down earlier this year.
Promoters Stephen Ferguson and Ali Vickers, who operate under the name What's Cookin', have organised hundreds of concerts in Waltham Forest over the years years, but decided to step down from the role when they also gave up the management of the Birkbeck pub in Leytonstone.
But now the duo, who stepped down due to the "exhausting" anti-social hours of running both regular music shows and a pub, are to start holding shows again, this time at the Crown pub in Leytonstone High Road.
The pub, formerly the Sheepwalk, is where What's Cookin' was previously held until 2010 but has since undergone a refurbishment under new management.
Mr Ferguson said: "At the moment shows will be weekly every Wednesday, with doors at 8.00pm.
"We'll also be doing some other specials different nights of the week.
"After the summer we also hope to start a regular Saturday night and Sunday early evening shows. All shows will still be free with a collection."
The first show is next Wednesday (May 15) with a headline performance from rock 'n' roll band Danny And The Champions Of The World. Support comes from singer-songwriter Simon Onion.
Doors open at 8pm for a 8.45pm start.
