Pictures of the moment police arrested an armed robbery suspect in Wanstead High Street are emerging.

Craig Ryan who works as a freelance journalist, snapped the shots of the man being led away by armed police moments after they arrested him this morning.

Mr Ryan also captured shots of officers taking a gun out of a bag recovered from the back of the man's van.

He said: "I didn't see the incident itself, but my colleague started shouting 'come and have a look at this' and I rushed over to the window and got the pictures.

"I saw the police take the bag out of the van and start looking in it.

"They fished out the gun and started photographing it."
