Harlow and Nazeing MP Robert Halfon has secured a debate in parliament over staff affected by the closure of the Tesco shipping centre in Harlow.
The Workers’ Rights debate, which is due to happen in Westminster Hall on Friday, will include points on staff transferring from Harlow to Dagenham, disabled workers and the supermarket chain’s decision to close the depot despite saying a week before that it would not.
Mr Halfon has also written to Tesco’s chief executive officer and its distribution director about the closure.
