Alan Carr performed a secret gig at Walthamstow’s Rose and Crown last night in front of around 100 excited audience members.
The monthly comedy night held at the pub is no stranger to big names but the secrecy surrounding this performance was a first.
Pub staff were told he’s likely to do a repeat show there in the future.
Bun Constantinou, manager, said: “Those who didn’t know he was coming on were thrilled.
“There’s been brilliant feedback, he was pleased with how it went as was the audience.
“Everyone I’ve talked to enjoyed the show, it’s done well for the local community – local people were able to get their hands on the tickets.”
Carr, 36, host of TV show Chatty Man, was testing out new material before an upcoming comedy tour.
