The A123 Fencepiece Road in Barkingside is currently closed in both directions following a traffic accident near Addison Road.
There are reports of at least one damaged vehicle and police cars, ambulances and a fire engine have been at the scene.
Bus routes 150, 167, 247 and 462 are being diverted.
