An art group had one of its most successful exhibitions ever when members sold nearly a third of their pieces.
The Theydon Art Group put on the exhibition at Theydon Bois Village Hall in Coppice Row yesterday and sold 40 of members’ 145 paintings, as well as mini pictures, which they sold in aid of the Redwings horse sanctuary at the Ada Cole Memorial Stables in Broadley Common.
Organiser Derek Springham said: “It’s a very high proportion. We’re very pleased and surprised.
“This was our 52nd exhibition and we’ve build up a group of people who know the exhibition and come in every year.”
The group will start regular meetings in October and anyone wishing to join should call Mr Springham on 020 8504 0584.
