A donation by a town’s Rotary Club will help a club provide trips for its elderly members this summer.
The Rotary Club of Epping gave £1,000 to the Evergreen Club, which meets on Thursday afternoons at Pelly Court hall in Hemnall Street, Epping.
June O’Brien, a volunteer at the club, said: “This is a wonderful amount to be given.
“As well as providing speakers, activities, quizzes and crafts, we also try to provide outings for our members.
“One thing that stops us having more is the cost of coaches, so I hope this will help us provide a few more outings.
“The members look forward to trips, so I know this will be very popular.”
Rotary president Richard Crone said: “The Evergreen Club is a wonderful example of the community spirit which exists in Epping, and fully deserving of our Rotary Club's support.”
