The first instalment of new play equipment has been unveiled at a park following a campaign.
The Ongar Mums formed last year to push for improvements at the town’s Love Lane play area and raised enough for new swings and a roundabout, with the help of the town council.
The newly renamed Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Field playground was officially opened on Friday by Ongar MP Eric Pickles.
Town clerk Aimi Middlehurst said: “Further improvements are planned at the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Field in the near future.
“If additional grant funding can be sourced, a double zip wire and a climbing facility will be installed.”
