A young man is still fighting for his life in hospital after being assaulted.
The 29-year-old is in a critical but stable condition after suffering head injuries late on Monday, May 6, at the junction of Lamorna Close and Hale End Road in Walthamstow.
Roger Kent, 52, of Lamorna Close, appeared at Thames Magistrates Court last week charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Kent pleaded not guilty and has been remanded in custody until June 5, when he will find out whether and when a date is to be set for a jury trial.
Neighbours believe the 29-year-old lives with his family in a block of flats just off Lamorna Close.
Residents have expressed their shock at the incident and one called for security cameras to discourage future incidents.
