A dog show raised a whopping £1,500 towards repairing an historic church.
More than 70 pet pooches took part in The Parish of Wanstead Village Dog Show on Sunday at Christ Church Gardens in Wanstead Place.
The contest, in aid of the on-going 'Raise the Roof' campaign to help repair and refurbish Wanstead's 150-year-old Christ Church, featured categories including 'Best Bitch' and 'Waggiest Tale'.
The event was held for the first time last year and organiser Jacqui Bull said she was thrilled with how the competition had grown in popularity.
She added: "I love the way the show brings together lots of people and members of the community. It was more like an event in the shires than east London.
"And we're really grateful to Aldersbrook Dog Trainers for making it so professional."
Each pet owner paid £2 to enter their dog in each category, and free entry prompted dozens more to come out and watch.
Overall winner of best dog was Aldersbrook man Bal Barring with his pet Billy, followed by Talvin Singh and Prince of Leytonstone, while Joy Thorpe of Highams Park was third with her dog Wesley.
The day also featured a BBQ, Pimms tent, face painting and stalls.
