A man was stabbed during a robbery at a Chinese restaurant in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police were called to the Peking Garden restaurant in Epping High Street at about 1.30am by paramedics, to find the 54-year-old from Epping with a stab wound to his leg.
He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, but later discharged himself.
A police spokesman said: “We were contacted by the ambulance service following reports that a man had been assaulted inside the Peking Garden.
“At this stage, the victim is refusing to cooperate with police.
“However, detectives have established that cash was stolen during the robbery.”
A manager at the restaurant, who refused to give her full name, dismissed reports there had been a stabbing there as “gossip” last night.
