Iain Duncan Smith joined fellow MP Mike Gapes and Redbridge’s new mayor Felicity Banks for a ride in a vintage Rolls Royce at a May Fair.
The trio were in Valentines Park, Ilford, to lend their support to the fair which was organised by the Friends of Valentines Mansion.
As well as the vintage car, which was provided by the Copped Hall Trust, there was music, food and a display of traditional maypole dancing.
This was the tenth May Fair at the Mansion, proceeds from previous fairs have helped raised money for restoration projects including the refurbishment of a Regency parlour.
Mr Duncan Smith said: "The May Fair was a fantastic day.
“It was a great celebration of the re-opening of Valentines Mansion. These community projects serve us well in pulling people together and I congratulate the organisers."
