Staff from a local school took a moonlit walk through London to raise money for charity.
Emer Kearney and Tracey Prior, who work on the bursary team at Forest School in College Place, Snaresbrook, were taking part in ‘Moonwalk’ a 13 mile walk to raise money for Walk the Walk, a breast cancer charity.
The duo were joined by Tracey’s 15-year-old daughter Jenna as they set off from Battersea Power Station with 17,000 other fundraisers at 11.25pm on May 11.
The route took them through Chelsea and Hyde Park with the streets lined with wellwishers even at 3am.
The women raised £500 on the walk and got a few blisters for their trouble.
Emer said: “There were moments when I found it difficult but giving up was not an option when you have so many people supporting you.”
Tracey added: “This has to be one of the most exciting and amazing experiences of my life.
“I feel proud to have participated in such a worthy cause.
“A big thank you goes out to my daughter Jenna who took part and completed the race with no complaints.”
