A care home is attempting to help people through the distress of dementia as they open their doors to the public.
Diagnosis of the syndrome will often cause confusion and fear for both the individual and their family members, something which the Pinewood Care Home, Chigwell, is hoping to reduce.
On May 24 residents and staff at the Manford Way home will offer support and advice for people worried about dementia.
The dementia awareness day will be filled with activities and the opportunity to speak to professionals as a part of Dementia Awareness Week.
Cream tea, a raffle and various stalls will keep people entertained whilst an advice workshop will run from 10am until 1:30pm, to answer questions on living with dementia.
For those who wish to attend the event, the full address is 96 Manford Way, Chigwell, Essex, IG7 4DA. To find out more, please call the home on 020 8500 8499.
