A woman killed in a car crash has been named by police.
Jothini Sriskandapalan, 29, died when her Vauxhall Corsa collided with a silver BMW on the eastbound carriageway of the A12, near Newbury Park Tube station, at 11.10pm on Monday.
A post mortem concluded that Ms Sriskandapalan, from Ilford, died of severe head injuries.
A Met spokesman said: "At this early stage it is believed the Corsa was travelling west along the A12 and, as the car turned across the eastbound carriageway, it was in collision with the BMW."
The BMW driver, a 23-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been released on bail and is due to return to police on August 28, a Met spokesman said.
