Registration is now open for parents and carers in Redbridge who want their children to sit the 11 Plus selection exam.
The main test will take place on Monday September 2, and the deadline for registering closes at 5pm on Thursday July 4.
The exam is for those hoping to start at grammar school in September 2014.
Two open evenings are being held in June for parents and prospective pupils currently in Year 5 at primary school.
The first is at Ilford County High School for boys on Tuesday June 25 from 6.30 pm to 9pm.
The second is at Woodford County High School for girls on Thursday June 27 from 6pm to 8.30pm.
