Police are stepping up patrols around Epping Forest after a number of people have been found using the car parks to take drugs.
In the last fortnight five offenders have been dealt with by officers on separate occasions in the High Beach area.
Neighbourhood Inspector Marc Jordan says that officers will now be deployed on a regular basis to try to discourage people from using the forest for illegal activity.
He said: “Officers will now be conducting regular patrols of the area, especially on evenings and weekends.
“During the summer months people tend to drive to the car parks and smoke cannabis.
