Looking at soil and compost types and discussing draining and watering budding gardeners can share planting tips, learn how to tackle pests and find out what makes a suitable growing container.
The first 15 people to turn up will be able to sow seeds in a pot to take home which should yield food within three-to-four weeks.
The event is free and all are welcome.
