Two men have appeared in court charged with a variety of motoring offences in the district.
Steven Hopkins of Regent Road, Epping, was fined £1130 and disqualified from driving at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court, yesterday.
The 41-year-old, who entered a guilty plea, was caught driving along the M11, at junction 5, on a Vespa Piaggio whilst under the influence of alcohol on May 3, this year.
Twenty-one-year-old Daniel Graeme Conor Shaw also appeared in Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 21.
Mr Shaw was charged with a number of motoring offences, including aggravated vehicle taking, driving without a licence and driving without valid insurance.
Mr Shaw of Clover Leas, Epping, entered a guilty plea to driving without being legally able to do so, although entered a plea of not guilty to the first charge.
Police caught Mr Shaw driving a Ford Fiesta along Golding’s Hill, Loughton, on November 8 last year.
Due to the not guilty plea Mr Shaw has been remanded on unconditional bail until the trial at Harlow Magistrates’ Court on July 31.
