The Central line is now part suspended between Leytonstone and Liverpool Street westbound.
There are severe delays on the rest of the route.
Transport for London (TfL) earlier warned of severe delays due a person being taken ill at Stratford Station.
But now it says the line has had to be part suspended because of a faulty train.
