Essex police are offering people the chance to take their first step towards joining the force.
On June 22 a recruitment event will take place at the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Basildon, for anyone considering becoming a special constable.
Representatives already in the role will be on hand from 10am until 4.30pm to advise applicants and answer any questions.
Anyone who is unable to make the event can find out more about becoming a special constable and download an application form at www.essex.police.uk/specials.
