Learn about the impact of the First World War on the English language in a talk by two authors.
Julian Walker and Peter Doyle will be at Wanstead Library in Spratt Hall Road on June 7 to discuss their book Trench Talk.
The book examines the origins of words like ‘bloke’ and ‘flea-bag’ which originated in the trenches.
The talk takes place from 7pm – 8.30pm and costs £3.
