The camping ground at the WaterWorks site off Lea Bridge Road is now taking bookings for the summer.
Visitors can book their pitches for four weekends over summer at the WaterWorks Centre campsite, which is the closest campsite to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, where a number of events are taking place over the selected weekends.
Events include Wireless Festival which features Jay Z and Justin Timberlake, Sainsbury’s London Anniversary Games, the re-opening of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Prudential Ride London.
Run by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA), the opening of the campsite coincides with a busy summer of events taking place at the Olympic Park.
Mark Rowley, LVRPA Commercial Development Manager, said: “The opening of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as a major visitor attraction will further increase the demand for visitor accommodation which is already at a premium in east London.
“The iconic venue is hosting a number of major events this summer and is able to accommodate around 100,000 visitors per day.
“The campsite will significantly contribute to meeting this demand and there are likely to be significant spin offs for the local economy of visitors coming to this area with the visitor economy estimated as worth £16 billion to London a year.”
The campsite offers 120 pitches, including pre-pitched tents, on site toilets and showers as well as a cafe serving full English breakfasts among other items.
Pitches cost £25 per night for a 6m x 6m pitch or £40 for a pre-pitched tent.
The available dates are July 11-14, 18-21, and 25-28, as well as August 1-4.
