The deadline to win a grant for the Words Over Waltham Forest Festival is up next Wednesday May 29.

Festival organisers are inviting expressions of interest from arts organisations, schools, venues, community groups, individuals and others who would like to run projects, host events and run workshops.

The festival, which is in its first year, celebrates creative writing, literary inspired art, reading, freedom of expression, language and literature across Waltham Forest by hosting language and literary inspired events.

Those interested can apply to host an event that does not require funding or apply for a grant to support the delivery of a project.

Grants ranging from £50-£500 are sponsored by Waltham Forest Libraries.

The three week, borough-wide festival takes places from October 26 to November 17.

Some events taking place at the time, which may inspire some event ideas, are Black History Month, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Diwali and the UK’s first national Family Arts Festival.

Email events@artillery.org.uk to apply for a grant or to participate in the festival.
